Trip #14 Frost River Day Trip to the Powwow Trail
The Duluth BWAC Chapter is calling back those enthusiastic volunteers who signed up for a trip last spring but were unable to attend. The mission is back on and this time we will be cleaning up the Powwow Trail! Our mission is to remove brush crowding the trail and cut new tree falls along the gateway.

Trip #3 Eagle Mt Trail Clearing - Frost River Day Trip
Have you been to the highest point in Minnesota? In 2023, BWAC accepted the opportunity from the USFS to maintain another trail in the beautiful Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness -the Eagle Mt/Brule Lake Hiking Trail. A Minnesota State Historic site, the Eagle Mountain Trail is a 3 1/2 mile hike to the top of Eagle Mountain with a stunning view -from 2,301 feet- of the Misquah Hills.

Trip #25: Frost River Day Trip - North of 2nd WYE
Purpose of this trip is to hike about 3 miles in from the trailhead and clear brush and treefalls on approximately 1.3 miles of trail north of “WYE” junction on the Powwow Trail.
Current plans are for a day trip, leaving early morning on Saturday, October 15. Frost River is providing free van transportation for volunteers from their store and back.

Day Trip Trail Clearing on the Powwow Trail
New to the Boundary Waters or don't have the time or equipment for a backpacking trip this fall? We will spend a full day Saturday hiking and clearing. Our goal for this trip will be to clear any treefalls within the first four miles from the trailhead, in addition to removing all the encroaching brush along this section. This is a great way to get an introduction to the Boundary Waters and make some new friends, all while making a meaningful contribution to maintaining the Powwow Trail!

Frost River/BWAC Day Trip Clean up on the Powwow Trail
Take a part in the miracle on the BWCAW Powwow Trail! Powwow is coming back to hiker use with help of volunteers. We will clear several miles of the path from the trail head going north toward Pose Lake. Last fall there were roughly 400 treefalls in a three mile long segment of the trail. Volunteer crews worked hard in May and September to clear numerous treefalls and jack pines. We will focus on new treefalls and remove brush crowding the trail.
